INTRODUCING
RateStick
confined non-ideal explosives
Accurate modelling of detonation waves and confinement effects in arbitrary-sized charges
RateStick is developed by Cambridge Numerical Solutions and is officially distributed in Greece by CAS-Hellas
RateStick is a GPU-accelerated computational tool for direct numerical simulations of detonation waves in confined explosives. It enables the prediction of detonation characteristics in charges of arbitrary size and confining material.
Simulation capabilities
Simulation of explosive charge in a 2D slab or cylindrical geometry
Charge can be either unconfined (air) or confined by a range of materials options including metals and rocks
A range of realistic equations of state available for explosives and confining materials
Option for bespoke confinement and explosive materials
Two-phase modelling of explosives, by explicitly modelling reactants and products
RateStick has been validated against experimental data.
For more information, see our validation study.
